Collage Poetry

Gray Murrah explores the intersection of art and language through her collage poetry which centers around themes of love, introspection, inner divinity, quiet observation, and connection. Sources such as old magazines articles and newspaper clippings serve as a point of departure in the curation of this work. Through the strategic reimagining of gathered cutout phrases and imagery, she fuses seemingly disparate messages and ideas into new dreamlike landscapes of poetic narrative. This act of assembling new text from fragments of existing writings reflects the ephemeral nature of language and connection as we navigate the nuance of human existence.
